I am a research scientist with the Image Processing and Analysis Group (IPAG) at the Dept. of Diagnostic Radiology and Biomedical Engineering. I received my doctorate degree in Computer Science at Wright State University, Dayton OH, in 2001. Soon after that I came to Yale to further research and develop solutions in medical imaging. The
focus of my current work has mostly been on Diffusion Magnetic Resonance
Imaging, a recent MR modality that allows the characterization of fibrous
tissue structure through water diffusion measurements. I have started
a journal club (DIJC) which is held at our department to foster new studies and collaborations in the field.
More recently I have been involved in analysis of diffusion images
of the myocardium, as well as developing novel methods for
characterization of the vascular architecture in small animals.
My
research areas include medical image analysis, computer vision, computer
graphics, as well as pattern recognition. My specific interests are level sets and dynamic moving fronts,
data visualization, shape modeling, distributed and parallel
systems. Follow the links below to know more about my research. Thanks, Marcel Jackowski.
